Sync My Watch has no accounts and asks for nothing about you. This page explains the little that is collected and why.

Analytics, only if you accept

The first time you visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Nothing loads until you choose Accept.

Google Analytics 4 collects pages visited and time on the site, device and browser information, the country or region you connect from, and how you arrived. Microsoft Clarity collects session recordings (mouse movement, clicks, scrolling) and heatmaps, plus device and browser information; text you type is masked. Both services use first-party cookies. The site also sends a few anonymous events to Google Analytics: whether the time sync succeeded and roughly how fast the connection was, whether the GMT hand was turned on, and whether the time zone was changed. None of them identify you.

Analytics help understand which parts of the site are useful and whether anything is broken. There is no advertising, no data is sold, no personal information such as a name or email address is collected, and there is no cross-site tracking.

Data is processed by Google LLC (privacy policy) and Microsoft Corporation (privacy statement) as data processors under their own policies.

Your choices

Accept loads analytics and a cookie remembers that for 12 months. Decline loads nothing and a cookie remembers that for 12 months. After 12 months the banner appears again. To change your mind sooner, clear this site's cookies in your browser and reload. Browsers that send a Global Privacy Control signal (Brave, Firefox with the setting enabled, DuckDuckGo and others) are treated as Decline: no banner, no analytics.

Server logs

Every request to the site, including the small time requests the page makes, passes through Amazon CloudFront, which writes an access log entry with your IP address, browser identification, the edge location that served you and the page requested. These logs are used to keep the site running and to notice abuse, are stored in the operator's private AWS account, and are deleted after 7 days.

Stored on your device

Your chosen time zones and the GMT and 24-hour preferences are kept in your browser's local storage so they are remembered next time, along with the time of your last visit, which the page uses to reload itself once a day so you always have the current version. Dismissing the date-setting notice is remembered for the browsing session. None of this leaves your device.

Retention at the analytics providers

Google Analytics keeps data for up to 14 months. Microsoft Clarity keeps session recordings for 30 days, a small sample and any labeled sessions for up to 13 months, and aggregated heatmap data for 13 months.
